Female First is founded and led by Libby Cook-Black, a Zenadth Kes woman from Erub Island. Our approach is Indigenous-informed — shaped by Libby’s lived experience and her deep understanding of the importance of identity, relationships, community and responsibility.

Meet Libby.
I’m Libby Cook-Black, founder of Female First. I’m a Torres Strait Islander woman, a mother and a business owner.
My work has taken me through sport, leadership, community and business, and I bring those experiences into everything we do here.
I created Female First because I want women to back what they know, recognise the value they bring and have somewhere to go when they’re ready to build on it. That might mean starting a business, telling your story, getting paid for your expertise or finally giving an idea the attention it deserves.
Female First is where we work on that together.
